Installed IDE CD-ROM drive does not work due to wrong drive selection setting.
Cause:
Drive selection jumper on the CD-ROM drive is incorrectly set.
Solution:
Set the drive selection jumper setting to match the CD-ROM drive configuration.
WARNING: Electrical shock hazard! Make sure the power is turned off and the external power cables have been disconnected before removing the computer cover.

1) Turn off the power to the computer and all external components.
2) Make sure the power cord is disconnected from the computer.
3) Remove the computer cover.
4) Check the drive select jumper at the back of the CD-ROM drive, make sure the drive select jumper is set to one of the following:
a) If the CD-ROM drive is configured as the only or primary device using the IDE controller, the drive selection jumper should be left at the manufacturer settings.
b) If the CD-ROM drive is configured as the second of two devices using the IDE controller, the drive selection jumper must be set to 'Slave'.
5) Replace the computer cover.
6) Connect the external power cord to the computer, and turn on the computer.
